Alan Bates, DO and State Senator Dr. Alan Bates

Family Practice

Dr. Bates received his medical degree from Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, MO. He completed his Residency in Family Medicine at Rocky Mountain Hospital in Denver, CO.

As a State Senator since 2005, Dr. Bates has been a passionate advocate of healthcare reform in Oregon. He has served our state in some capacity since 1989 when he was elected to the Oregon Health Services Commission, which he Chaired from 1996 to 2000. He is also the former Chief of Medicine at both Rogue Valley Medical Center and Providence Medford Medical Center. Dr. Bates is board certified by the American College of Family Practice.

Philosophy of patient care: Each patient deserves to be treated as an individual with respect and dignity.

Special areas of interest: Family Practice medicine with special interest in Diabetes

Christopher Morgan, MDDr. Christopher Morgan

Internal Medicine/Pediatrics

Dr. Morgan received his medical degree from Oregon Health and Science University in Portland. He completed his residency and additional training in pediatrics and internal medicine at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Beverly Hills, CA. 

Dr. Morgan is board certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Physicians - Internal Medicine. He has the distinction of being rated as one of the Rogue Valley’s, Readers Choice Favorite Doctors four times!

Dr. Morgan is a third generation Rogue Valley resident and spends his free time with is wife, Dr. Lorie Morgan and their three children.

Stephen Nelson, MDDr. Stephen Nelson

Internal Medicine/Family Practice

Dr. Nelson received his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA. In addition, he holds a Masters in Public Health also from Tulane University. He completed his Residency in Family Medicine and an additional Fellowship in Faculty Development at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ. Dr. Nelson is Board Certified by the American College of Family Practice.

Dr. Nelson and his wife of 23 years have a son and daughter. He enjoys spending time with his family, living his faith, and embracing the sport of basketball.

Philosophy of patient care: The word 'doctor' means teacher. I believe my main job is to teach people in such a way that they can improve their own health.

Sherry Castillo, MDDr. Sherry Castillo

Family Practice

Dr. Castillo completed her medical degree and residency in Family Practice at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, in Dallas, TX.  She is certified by the American Board of Geriatrics and practices a full spectrum of family practice medicine. 

Dr. Castillo spends her free time with her husband, Dr. Juan Castillo and their five daughters.  She also enjoys running, swimming and reading.

Debbie Cheevers, FNPDebbie Cheevers, FNP

Family Practice

Debbie completed her Masters of Nursing at Vanderbilt University, in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1997. As a nurse for over 17 years, Debbie has extensive experience in a wide range of environments including key positions as a surgical nurse, oncology nurse, an intensive care nurse, and as a hospice nurse.

Debbie’s experience offers the in-depth knowledge and understanding required to serve all of our patients needs well.

Family Practice

Christine earned her Associate Degree in Applied Science in Nursing at Pikes Peak Community College, in Colorado Springs, CO, and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, from Oregon Health & Science University through their extension program at Southern Oregon University in Ashland. Christine went on to complete her Masters of Science in Nursing Family Nurse Practitioner, from Western University of Health Sciences, in Pomona, CA.
