Laboratory ServicesLaboratory Services

The Rogue Valley Physicians Laboratory serves medical practices throughout southern Oregon. Accuracy and quality of medical laboratory testing is essential to the health and safety of the patients relying on these important diagnostic services. That is why RVP Laboratory is staffed by experienced certified technologists and phlebotomists who ensure that the highest quality of testing is maintained.

The RVP Lab is accredited by the Commission on Office Laboratory Accreditation (COLA), and certified by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA). In December of 2008, our lab received the prestigious Laboratory Excellence Award by COLA for outstanding performance in quality patient testing and overall exemplary application of the principles of laboratory practices.

To facilitate convenient and timely testing the RVP Lab offers four draw stations throughout the valley. Please see our draw station locations below.

To Schedule your Appointment:

You are welcome to walk in and wait for the next available phlebotomist at most of our satellite draw stations, however scheduling a lab draw helps ensure a minimal wait time. To schedule an appointment please call the location of choice below.

You may be asked to review and sign an Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN). An ABN is required by many insurance companies. It means that we will bill your insurance company and based on your diagnosis or condition, the test may or may not be a covered service. Meaning, your insurance carrier may not pay for the test(s). If they do not pay, you will be responsible for the total cost of the tests. You have the right to refuse these tests and your provider will be informed if you choose to do so.

To Prepare for a Lab Test:

  • We recommend you remain well hydrated, drink plenty of water starting the night before your anticipated draw.
  • Continue to take any prescribed medications as directed by your provider.
  • Do not urinate before coming in for a blood draw, quite frequently a urine sample is also needed.
  • You may brush your teeth.
  • Your provider will indicate to you if your test needs to be in a fasting or non-fasting state.
  • If your test requires fasting, do not eat or drink (except water) 12 hours before the test; drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
