James W. Theen, MD, FACE, FACP

Dr. Theen is board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology and Metabolism. He is a fellow in both the American College of Physicians and the American College of Endocrinology. He received his MD from the University of Illinois where he was a James Scholar in Independent Studies. Internship, residency and fellowships were completed at the University of Minnesota Hospitals and the Minneapolis VA Hospital, where he was also chief resident in internal medicine.

Dr. Theen practiced endocrinology in Minneapolis prior to moving to Medford in 1989. He has limited his practice to adult endocrinology and diabetes since 2000.

Dr. Theen and his wife enjoy traveling far and wide as well as exploring Oregon. Their two adult children live on opposite coasts, so United Airlines is his friend. The Theens particularly enjoy the fantastic local food and wines of beautiful Southern Oregon.

Jeffery L. Bentley, MS, PA-C

Jeff received his physician assistant training at the Oregon Health & Science University School of Medicine, in Portland, Oregon. In addition to his Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Oregon Health & Sciences University he also has a Masters in Science degree with emphasis in Exercise Science and Nutrition and a Bachelors in Science in Health Promotion/Fitness Management from Southern Oregon University.

Outside work Jeff enjoys hiking, hunting and watersports with his family. He and his wife Jaime have three children: Taelyn, Jema, and Cyrus.

Gina Jones, MS, CDE, PA-C

Gina Jones is a physician assistant and certified diabetes educator.  She attended Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, where she graduated summa cum laude in Exercise Science.  She then attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.  She worked at La Clinica for three years before joining Dr. Theen and his staff in January, 2008.  She received her certification as a certified diabetes educator in 2009 and is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.  She has served various positions in the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Oregon Society of PAs, and the American Society of Endocrine PAs.

Gina and her husband Peter moved to Medford from Minnesota in 2004.  She continues to work a couple of days a month at La Clinica and also instructs fitness classes at Superior Athletic Club.  In her spare time, she enjoys playing her violin at church, running (as well as other forms of exercise), reading/book clubs, cheering for the Minnesota Vikings, and hiking with Peter and their two golden retrievers, Mason and Goldie.
